Those scales are amazing. I'd love TP know how they looked fully painted. I'd also like to know how the original owner tried explaining to his proper Victorian wife that the scales are art and nothing dirty .

I think that was part of the appeal for me. I envisioned it sitting in some mens club at the turn of the century with whiskey and women of ill repute

For sure. I wish men's clubs of that ilk were still around. Go, smoke your pipe, have a drink and some conversation and forget about work/home for a few hours... those were fine times, my friend.
