I found this old Morley lady in an antiques shop in the city where I live. She had just arrived and was covered in dirt and rust. Picked her up for $10 because of the etching, hoping that she might be salvageable. After a long bath and some hard scrubbing, I got her cleaned up, but I don't think she's ever going to shave again... :-( more's the pity as she would have been my first Damascus blade. The etching is still somewhat legible but the AS in the middle have been taken out by the rust that was there, so it's a bit hard to read. I may try and get someone more skilled with a hone to try and get her to dance again, but i think it'll be in vain.

I don't see any reason you wouldn't be able to get that one shaving again. It has some pitting but from the pics the edge should be OK with a bit of effort.

The pics don't show it well, but that major pitting in the middle actually tracks down into the edge of the blade as well. There is a slight possibility that with enough honing it might still shave, but I'm doubting it. I'll see if I can get better pics of the damage with a macro lens and post it soon.
