Well I found this baby for a song at a local antique place. Had spent a year wondering if the price was worth it before looking on the forums (/facepalm).
Karl is Herr Heribert's father, so a rough estimate on the age would be mid 60s.
As found at the store with a re-honing. Amazing shave that makes me lust after one of the new ones to compare.

    Heres mine!

Well, this photo is actually courtesy of Mr Crowley at Shaving Shop, where I got the razor! My camera keeps over or underexposing the photos so I gave up on it...!

Thanks to John as well, shes a beaut and shaves great and the service was first class!

Its a 15/16" Antik Spanish Point, with multi coloured horn scales and a laser etched spine. These razors are actually limited edition and only 16 were made, mine is number 4..!

    Love it!

    Hi all,

I Just found out about ‘Die Wackerfans!’

It’s great to see this enthusiasm among fellow Wacker owners.

Like I stated earlier, in my introduction at the beginners thread, I have been shaving with straights only for eight weeks or so. But already I am a proud Wacker user.

Shortly after my first shaves with a Dovo I got my ‘Antik 6/8’. I fell in love right away. My Antik has the blond horn scales which are just great looking but also the feel nice in your hands. It adds a nice counterweight to the blade and the balance is beautiful. I already got one other 6/8 straight (a Revisor Seeman) and also this one handles great and thus shaves comfortably.

After a small pyramid on the 4000/8000 Norton and a few laps on a Coticule and some green paste and stropping I got my 6/8 just nice and smooth. And then the noise it makes when it chops the whiskers! It’s like the sound in the opening scene in ‘My Name Is Nobody’ when Henry Fonda’s character gets a straight shave while holding his 45 to the jewels of the villain barber.

Anyway, I thought I include here some pics. Some of which I posted earlier in another thread but they are right at home here.

    Thanks,
    Paul

The little Indonesian statuette is only to make the 'Antik'look even more impressive...

Great pics; great razors, gentlemen! Hog: Love that 'All-Around' - Very nice!

Here is my smooth-shaving Wacker duo. I call them Big Brother and Little Brother. Big Brother is an 'All-Around Master' in Ebony wood (I think this is the same blade as Hog's, just different scales). Like several in this post, I got mine from Mr. Crowley:

Little Brother is one I picked up from an SRP member. It's a 9/16" 'Monitor'. I haven't seen these anywhere else, so would love some info on it if anybody knows anything about these... It has black celluloid scales and a similar (but not identical) goldwash on the blade as my All-Around. It was listed as 4/8", but measures larger. The tang stamp is not the current logo; perhaps this is another Karl Wacker razor?
