I much prefer Edinburgh. We should never have left it.We originaly intended to go to Mull or Oban but the wife couldn't get a transfer. It's too gosipy here. You start off with a plook on your nose at one end of town and by the time you're half way along the town, you've a terminal illness. The wife says she doesn't know what she'll do if she's too far away from the meatings she attends of the phone helpline she womans(rape and abuse helpline) but she's "done her bit" for ten years now.I miss the services that are available in the city. It's ok here if you want a charity shop or if you want to wait 4 days for a plumber to bother to turn up(if at all). I think I'll break that soap box up for firewood.

I just want to thank all of the SRP members who commented about Genco razors in this thread. I noticed a Genco DeRoma and it's original box, both in very good condition for sale on E-Bay a few days ago, but I knew little about them and was unsure about bidding.
Having joined SRP last week I did some research and found out that most members thought well of Genco, so I decided to bid. About an hour ago I won it for $41.07 including S/H. It's not one made in Geneva NY, but Bradford PA, which is after Case took over the company. Hopefully that doesn't mean it was a mistake, but if it was, at least it wasn't an expensive one.

Case bought the Genco company and did move it to Bradford PA for a short while. You did very well with your new acquisition. Congrats!. Please post pictures when you receive it.

Here is a closeup of the tang of one of my genco's. I'm wondering if the 23 in the pyramid means the razor was made in 1923. Also, I suspect the SS means stainless steel. Anyone else seen these markings?

I have a #7 pyramid. I have also seen other Geneva pyramids with other numbers in the pyramid.

I assumed that the number was a model number, but you know what they say about when we assume . . . You're probably right about the SS marking. I wanna see more, flash us some more of that razor!

    Default Genco's restored

I just got my two Geneva Cutlery Co. razors back from www.theinvisibleedge.co.uk and both looked like the first pic when they arrived from ebay.

    Now they look like this....

They shave so smoothly I paid just £12 and £15 for them (before restore price) now I've only three razors to get and I'll have my seven days sorted
