Also, bit hard to see in the pics, but the scales have Sheaf Works on them.

Very nice Greaves Andrew! I have the same exact model (post #79 in this thread) and it is bar none one of my best shavers. I love the vintage razors from this era...1820's to 1830's!

Get it honed up proper and you will be very happy...

Greaves made a ton of that model of razor. I've seen many, many of them, but few that nicely preserved.

    They're wonderful razors.

These lovely Greaves & Sons Silver Steel etched blades look virtually new as do the scales and the case. The full wedge blades look to have never been honed and measure 15/16 at the widest point. Looking forward to the shave once I hone one up.
    Very exceptional Jimmy!!!!!!!

    Wow - I hate you....those are gorgeous.

Yes, the case is rare...there is a double case on eBay now for $149.00.

Yes, Jimmy, as they used to say on, "Get Smart", it was the old misspelt razor trick eh? Man, matched set of Greaves....fantastic find and congratulations!

    Beautiful!

Years ago a seller had an Escher yellow green "Barber's Delight" mint in a Pike/Escher box. The box was a bit shelf worn and the "r" in Escher was scuffed to look like "Eschen". So that is what he listed it as. I got it for way less than it would have went for had it been listed as an Escher. Had it been listed correctly I probably wouldn't have gotten it at all. That was in the bygone days when I used to look at ebay rigorously. Happy to say I don't need to do that anymore.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well, it is an awesome find...also, just my opinion, but I've been thinking of late that it's the Greaves razor's turn to hit the spotlight...they have always been harder to find than most of the other Sheffields, and maybe it's just me, but I find them so much more mysterious than many of the others, and I find that their blades just have that touch more uniqueness if I can say that...you must have done some good deeds this week!

    Beautiful set, those are keepers!
