I've had my eye on that model for a while. I suspect it will be a great razor like all of mine. If you do you're own honing, you'll see how good it is.

Well, that really is quite a nice razor. Actually, more than that. So, please meet my new Schulze razor by Revisor Solingen.

This one is new, and it is fantastic. As per usual when it comes to Revisor razors, the craftsmanship is impeccable. Revisoren are made by highly experienced craftsmen who previously worked for some of the biggest names in Solingen razor history. And it shows.

The grind is immaculate. The bevel is set perfectly. The razor is more than just shave ready, with the Revisor signature high-end finish. The scales are made by Revisor, too, and they look nice and are fully functional.



There really is little else to say. Revisor and Aust are, in my opinion, the very best razors not only to come out of Solingen, but also in general. The blanks are made by Herkenrath, ie the guys who also made the fabled #14 blanks (such as https://goo.gl/FVO1xf). The steel has been perfected for decades, and works like a charm. You really could not ask for more in a razor.



I positively love this razor. Accompanied by other best in class products from the area, and stropped (for good measure) on +Lynn Abrams's fabulous signature paddle strop, it worked perfectly. And here it is, taking pride of place in Bart's cabinet. Fabulous.

Wow. This thread has gone quiet. I don't think I bought a new razor in '16. I still intend to get the Revisor posted in #143. My b-day is coming up in a few days. Maybe a present to myself or early next year.

I do like my new manufactured Revisor. That said it almost seems too easy to just order up a very nice/nos vintage razor from Revisor for those that like the hunt almost as much as the acquisition. Then there are people like me that are just too tight to part with the coin.

Oh, man. Thats the one thing I like most about Revisor. It takes the "hunt" out of the equation. Maybe I'm getting too old and crotchety but that hunt is something I've lost any appetite for. Even a new Revisor is so similar to vintage razors that I really don't see the point of hunting them down. If they fall in my lap, fine. But I've given up on tracking down a this or that. At one time I had a short list of coveted razors that I wanted to add to my collection. I've given up the search. And I find myself using my RA and Revisors more frequently than some of the other vintage ones I have. I haven't lost interest but I AM very set in my ways at this point.

Revisor 6/8 stock and rescaled in Briarwood. Revisor 6/8 Spanish point rescaled in Cocobolo, inlay lifted and covered with extra layers of CA and a Revisor 8/8 square point, stock scales. Alfredo did all the rescaling work for me, good stuff. Reversed photo order...

Excellent news from Thomas, all hands on deck again, and razor production in full swing. Thought I'd let you know, because they have some very nice razors back in stock.

It may need honing when you get it. But don't let that affect your evaluation. I trust you'll love it.
