@ Rockabillyhelge: thanks for posting yet another beautiful # 14. Great to see you put so much effort in restoring in stead of renovating.
Even though some of the original scales are made of inferior materials, they still are original scales and certainly with inlays or embossings these are worth retaining.
@ JBHoren: I'd even go as far as to state this razor is a "bellied hollow" as I haven't seen many a # 14 that isn't. The reflection on the picture with the embossment on the original scale seems to substantiate this.
Thank you all for keeping this topic bristling with beautiful pictures and good information!
Kindest regards, Jazor.

CUF 14
I'm proud to add another beautiful 14 to the thread. This is a 7/8 CUF made in Solingen that I recently added to my rotation thanks to my buddy Sharpton!

@ wyobarbershop: that's a beauty too! Even seems NOS / mint.
What materials are those scales?
Kindest regards, Jazor.

Thanks for your compliments! I'm almost certain the scales are made of celluloid.

Gentlemen, here are some pics of my recent acquisition.
The seller believed this to be the 200th Anniversary razor of J.A. Henckels.
It's a 14 with aluminium scales. If it is indeed that razor, it must be from 1931 which makes it a posh, fancy razor as I've been told that aluminium had the same price as gold in those days. Those were the crisis years. All in all a nice new old stock find with a factory edge that had not been honed to perfection yet. I finished the edge on a coticule and the shave was fantastic.

@ sashimi: what a fantastic razor that is! First time I see a Henckels 14 with those kind of scales.
Please be careful to keep it dry as carbon steel and aluminium don't like each other too much which would lead to accelerated contact corrosion once an electrolyte is present.
Congratulations, kindest regards, Jazor.

Nice 14! I have several aluminum-scaled razors. I think as long as you clean and polish, inside and out and wax/oil, maintain, you should see no issues. I worried a bit on mine. Aluminum, brass, steel? Am I making a battery?
No problems whatsoever. Gotta post my aluminum scaled Carl Rader 14. Coming soon!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Congratulations, you got a beauty! I've been keeping my eyes open for a Henckels 14. They aren't easy to come by. I've never seen an aluminum one other than yours.
