Thanked: 4826Nice razor. You are not the only one around here that blows their budget. I do not think I have ever noticed a Boker 14 before. It looks to be in incredible condition.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Don Quijote 14, Toledo steel
Here's a Spanish 14 that's interesting because the tang says "Acero de Toledo," which means "Toledo Steel." I think this would indicate that not all 14 blanks came from Germany, as some have claimed.
It's a little over 7/8" and doesn't appear to have been used much if at all. I bought it from an Argentinian auction site and haven't cleaned it up yet. The blade has some etching I can't make out, ending in "1900". I suspect this is an address, or perhaps the year in which the importer was established, because it just doesn't look like it was made in 1900.
No belly in the grind that I can detect. Also, it isn't ground nearly as thin as my Filly Doble Temple 14; more like my old Monserrat 14.

Beautiful razor, with the famous Toledo steel, which I understand is akin to the famed Damascus and Tamahagane steels, stunning piece.
And definitely not all #14 blanks were made by Hugo Herkenrath, the CEO of Revisor put that to bed long time ago.

@ jmabuse: thanks for sharing. Interesting observation regarding the metal.
There are probably some non destructive / reversible techniques that make the etching readable.
This so you don't loose information once you clean it up / polish it.
Please keep us informed as we're probably all interested to learn what was once visible as etching.
Kindest regards, Jazor

I will take another look tonight. Looking at the photos, it might say "Alfonso Gral Peluquero 1900." Peluquero means hairdresser or barber.

Thanked: 21Jazor
Here's a couple more:
Le Grelot
She's a full 8/8. The heel job removed a portion of the jimps but didn't ruin the temper, fortunately.
ERN
This is another example of a smaller sized 14 - more like 6/8. About 1/2 hollow too.
