the scales on yours seem nicer looking. Is yours a Spanish Palmera (Juan Vollmer) or a german one.

@rocarule: thanks for sharing those beautiful # 14's.
Personally I very much like the Palmera you showed: it's size is indeed a rarity.
Keep sharing people!
Kindest regards, Jazor

I did have to give up a 9/8 wostenholm that did not see that much use anyway.

@ caccia: thanks for the nice picture. Quite audacious to put a straight razor on a brick underground?
Kindest regards, Jazor

Thank you for the comment,I am careful when I set the razor down etc. The razor is in well used condition,(a lot of hone wear) but seems it is designed to accept that, shaving as good as it does. All of my 14's shave very nice, must be their size,dimensions,flex,angles,grind... is factored in to give their characteristics. One razor could last a young man a lifetime, treated properly.

A little tip, if you want a razor with better fit and finish than a filarmonica #14. Look for one made by some of the lesser know Solingen outfits, they can be found.
Some don't have the #14 stamped on the tang, but most have the distinctive hump where the tang meets the spine.
They can be bought for a fraction of the price of Fila+++ without the flimsy kitschy scales.

And here's a superb specimen that just came in. I know nothing about this maker and it doesn't have the #14 stamped. A fine shaver!
