    Default Dubl Duck $450, seriously?

Maybe I'm missing something, but almost $500 for a Dubl Duck. This reminds me of the Dutch Tulip Bulb Market Bubble of 1637.

It was the box. There have been others as nice, but no box, and they went for a LOT less.

    The mystery lies here:

MADE OF SPECIAL SWEDISH ALLOY STEEL. IT'S INNER STRUCTURE HAS BEEN IMPROVED BY A NEW PROCESS OF ELECTRICAL HARDENING ACCOMPANIED BY DEEP FREEZING AT EXTREMELY LOW TEMPERATURES. THIS SPECIAL PROCESS PRODUCES A STEEL WITH AN EXTREMELY SHARP CUTTING EDGE THAT CUTS CLEANLY AND LASTS LONGER THAN ANY RAZOR YOU HAVE EVER USED BEFORE

you can bet on the special method that has not been used ever before or after, only say by Filarmonica, and Henckels, and who knows what other razor company but who is keeping count. And then the edge lasts longer than any other razor that we have used before, IT IS A FACT BOOK IT.

And here's another from yesterday, Dubl Duck Wonderedge Fine Vintage Pearl Straight Razor Solingen Germany | eBay

About a week ago one went for over $500 if I remember correctly, and not a Reaper. DD's seem to be the new trendy razor. Maybe the Fili's will get affordable again?

I bought the very same razor a couple of years ago and paid for it about 50 USD. Sometimes prices on eBay are really crazy and speculative.

I hope your right about it being like the tulip bulb market. I know how that story ended, and that would mean soon enough I can get my hands on some nice, reasonably priced DDs!
