Gas used to cost what it used to cost but it was still made to make vehicles go.
That probably isn't case with USD 450 razors. Not only for shaving but sort of a jewellery too. Who has got the sexiest/coolest/manliest razor and absolutely The Best Shaver there is in the universe?
I do not care. For me they are made for shaving, be it 1830 Ann Parker or some modern monster sized razor. I would not pay for hundreds for anything made to remove the hair from my face, although i agree that modern knife makers need to get decently paid for what they do.
To each his own, imho. No wrong or right.

As I said in the other, current thread about prices:
There is nothing to explain. I fact it's quite the opposite - this explains why we don't do valuations; you can't. Stuff is worth what someone will pay, and that's all there is to it.

Thanked: 480Actually, I have been paying attention for a while now, and the DD prices peaked about 2 years ago, and dropped back down as the Filly prices began to shoot up. Recently, prices on the Filly have dropped a tiny bit, as the DD have climbed steadily.
Of course, this only applies to "user grade" razors. The NOS and near mint ones only go up. As Pixelfixed said, one day, there will be only one left! "There Can BE only ONE!"

Are you kidding me? Straights were made by the hundreds of millions probably. There are plenty just sitting around in folks attics and basements and undiscovered locations. More will continue to surface for a long, long time to come. You might not like the prices but they will always be available. Like we used to say in the rockhounding game, if there is a specimen you really want you use the "silver-pick" ($) to pry them loose.

Thanked: 1184I been watching these things like a hawk for the last 6 months and they go up and down with the wind. Right now the wind is blowing about 90 mph. I missed an 8/8 goldedge on a late button hit and still crying about it. (Got to remember the confirm button in the last second). It looks to me like the boys are spending their tax returns on razors right now. And yes they do still climb. A better investment than Apple stock right now :<0) .
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
