I think that the razors where the blade and tang flow as one piece are earlier than the general consensus, regardless of the shape of the tail. Over on another shaving forum, one of the members posted a photo taken of a razor set at the V&A Museum in London.

Thanks for sharing this photo. Your razor is probably somewhere between 1822-1830 as it has the Reign of George IV crown who reigned 1820-1830 and after the award to Joseph Rodgers. It is similar in style/shape to mine. Mine does not have "Joseph" preceding Rodgers and does not have the No. 6 Norfolk address as yours does, and most do. Mine could have been made before the address was used but after the award of Cutlers to His/their majesties, sometime around 1822. Just guessing at this point......Thanks, AJ
