    I vote bone because of the thickness. Personally, I like the bone scales.

    Well bone won't rot the blade and I think it more durable than ivory, less brittle, but ivory is classier. IMHO.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    thickness doesn't mean anything, I have razors with original ivory scales that are as thick as any regular plastic scales. thick ivory scales are rare because ivory is strong enough for very thin scales that are not possible in other materials, and it is also expensive.
