I have no idea.. Same wrapping standard on all Iwasakis. If I had to guess, some kind of tree skin?

I have a couple of the tamahagane Iwasakis, and I think I'm keeping the original rattan wrapping. But you could look at Jenes razors for some ideas for alternate wraps. He's done some amazing work with his kamisoris.
