    You really shouldn't have to..yes, it's an extreme curve on a long tail, but there are always possibilities with design to make it work

    That green scaled razor has WAY too much wedge in it for my taste...but we all have opinions. The idea of mocking up scales made of paint sticks is what I do as they are soft and quick to shape. Your started out design will be fine, just shorten a bit like Pixelfixed mentioned. I personally don't care for any more than 1/4" of wedge at it's max width.

    Looking at the comments above I start to wonder: is it even necessary to have the tail fully covered for stropping?

    Good Question,do not no the answere.
    I think if the OP shortens the tang a bit and takes some of the curve out of the scale design,all will be covered,JMO

    nice, haha! once around with electrical tape stops the scales from flopping around with a long tailed razor when stropping, that tail looks like it will be past the point of interfering with stropping motion. ive had razors with extended tails where I had to adjust my technique and pinch grip either closer to or farther away from the heel of the blade.
