    Make sure the scales follow the tang when open... If not it's a pain to strop... I speak from experience ;-)

    Seriously, in the patent drawing, as all is straight, the tang is within the scales completely.
    Obviously, mine is not. How looks yours as opened?

    I dunno. They all seem ok until you see one which has not been worn down. I have one about like that I will give you.
