Thanked: 2Really? I read in a couple of threads where people said the steel was too soft.

Thanked: 2I forget the exact analogy used. It was something about a saw vs other tools.

Thanked: 220I have a 6/8 G&F, I learned how to straight shave with is as it was my first straight razor. I like the razor, and have had no problems with it, although it's been sent to Lynn for honing a couple of times, and I'm pretty sure he hates it! Apparently it's difficult to hone, and does not hold an edge well. I hate to do it to the poor guy, but when I send it to him, it always comes back in perfect shape. I guess that's why I like the razor, if I honed it myself I probably would have got rid of it by now!

Thanked: 2Ok, I've done some reading on these on other forums. Some say that the spine is a bit thicker than on other razors. I wonder if this is true. I wouldn't mind comparing one of these with a factory edge vs the factory edges of other brands, such as Dovo, Boker, or TI.
