"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 2well now it has been bread knifed i am going to start with 2.
Rob, i now have 5 old straights - the wade and butcher with lots of rust (thats cleaning up nicely)
and a few more I'm practicing on. one is a 1/4 hollow norton 6/8ths with compressed paper scales (micarta is that?) and i got a decent head shave from it yesterday, so things are looking up. just need to keep practicing i think.
i think I'm not setting the bevel correctly, but it takes ages on my toishi ohishi 1k stone (at times I've spent 40 mins, probably hundreds of strokes, and it still won't quite cleanly shave arm hair) so I'm thinking going right down to a 220 grit or something.
any ideas guys?
