Thread: My girlfriend is sick of me bangin on about razors

My wife just tunes me out when I start talking about my out of the norm interests. She got over my encroachment of the bathroom counter eventually. Hopefully your GF gets to that phase for you.

I had the same conversation with my and some friends on Saturday. Mike and his wife came over and the conversation turned to my "obsession" withe SR's which also included my "obsession" with old film cameras. Needless to say, anything I am interested in is an "obsession" and her interests are valid. She just doesn't understand why I need more than one after all "it's just shaving" or "just photography". I feel for you my brother, SOLIDARITY IN SHAVING

In case you fellas haven't realized it yet women in general are not into collecting and see no value in collecting anything. Of course there are exceptions and of course if a woman has 20 pairs of shoes or an infinite number of fashion accessories they don't see it as collecting.

@thebigspendur: I understand completely. My gf and I were having this conversation this evening about my straight razor and hone collection and her RiverWoods boots collection. Correction, her boots are not a collection...she just needs a whole lot of them so she can change once in a while.

Perhaps we should speak their language. I don't "collect", I "shop". My shopping has the same effect as her shopping. Face bling vs neck/foot bling. Bling is bling baby!

As I sit here in bed reading this thread out loud to my wife she tells me that you all should tell your wives that this shaving experience is akin to a wonderful mani/pedi at the spa and sometimes you have to treat yourself. (her words not mine) She says to repeat these words to your wife to give her some perspective on the finer art of shaving. Lol.....can't hurt....

I took the evil route...I came across a beautiful vintage antique necklace, made of authentic Pearls, came in the case and everything for $61.00 from an eBay estate sale!

She loved it....then I showed her antique jewelry on eBay, she's hooked now and is amazed, has purchased three Victorian rings and a bracelet so far, she doesn't have much to say about my razors anymore....but she loves talking about great antique's now, whether in the form of razors of jewelry....bwahahahahaha!

solve this proplem & just change your postal address to care of your work LOL or a freind etc
