Its amazing the difference before and after. Really shows just how much potential older straights really have.

Thanks KingHooper, I greatly appreciate the good comments! As long as people use their Dremel's right, take their time, be patient & keep the blade cool, it works great!

Dremel makes the job very easy. Some friends of mine sent their inherited razors to me and I'm still hand sanding at nights. Takes very long time and efforts.

There's nothing wrong with hand sanding. Keep it up. I have an old blade I'm hand sanding on & I'm going to be doing it a very long time going through the different grit progressions but once I get it where I want it, I will polish it & see how it comes out. If you have a Dremel, just take your time & keep the blade cool. If you are on it for awhile, make sure you don't get it hot but if it starts getting hot, cool it off in some water & dry it off & polish again. Just stick with that route & you will be okay.

I will keep hand sanding for the razors I currently work on. May be later I will buy a dremel.

That's good. I don't recommend running out & buying one but if & when you do, just be careful with it. They can not only ruin a blade but they will hurt you if you aren't careful.
