Nice set! I really like the box.
Is that Latin etched in the blade?

Thanked: 1With a bit of work would I be able to get these cleaned up? Or would you suggest sending them away ?

Unless you are expert I would send them to someone who is expert. They are too nice to do an amateurish job ..... forgive the adjective if it doesn't apply.
For me ......... I'd take a Q-tip, a paper towel, and some metal polish and call it good. I'm assuming they are all as nice as the one example shown? I know how to hone so that isn't an issue. If you don't definitely send them to a pro. IMHO.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 3226Congrats, you have stepped into straight razor shaving with an enviable set of razors. From the look of them they should clean up easily. A quick search on here should turn up ways to do that. I believe those are ivory scaled so be very careful with them. If you put pressure on them, like pinch them together, they may crack. There is a lot of info on here about ivory scales too. If you don't feel you are up to restoring them I would have them professionally restored and honed. I hope you enjoy using them for many years.
