Thanked: 90I will work on close up pics tonight. Shave last night was very nice. I need to work on my shaving maneuvers with a kamisori though. As this was my first shave with one. I find it easier for something's and harder for others. No issues though. I really liked the feel of it in my hand while shaving.

Well, very nice effort taking those pics! Thanks!
I'm going to try my best to figure it out
It will take some time though, so in a couple of days I just maybe know a bit more,
if Arsenico hasn't figured it out in the meanwhile of course!
I hope he can, cause it really looks like a difficult one!

Thanked: 90Thanks Jethro. I believe the forth one down is trade mark. It looks like the same I see on other blades from my searching. That is about all I can find though.

I searched a lot,
and found little, maybe they are hentaigana (obsolete kanji)
持級証 = Ji-kyū-shō = "Certificate of grade"
(級 = )
登録商標 = Tōroku shōhyō = Registered trademark
Then, possibly:
= Mi
= So
> modern version = みそ
> みその 【三曾野】= Misono (Family or surname)
And then:
- > modern kanji = む(mu) or 舞(mai)
- = よ(yo) or 代(dai)
- 禄? (roku) or 祿? or 退? (shisa)
- or =す(su) or 寿 / 壽(Kotobuki)
(or = ず = zu)
That would be then (possibly): Muyo (Roku)zu
Or something like that...
Pretty useless I'm afraid, besides that it could be really old kanji and thus a really old Orihi (kamisori)
which we already knew ...
Sorry, I'm afraid I can't help much more...Last edited by Fikira; 05-16-2017 at 01:25 PM.

Thanked: 90Thanks Jethro. It is more than I could figure out myself. Very interesting though. I am glad it is a wonderful shaver. Someone knew what they were doing when they made it.

Fikira I am really impressed by your work and effort, really.
Hentaigana...yes it could be...
This style of writing sometimes can be seen on stamps, the square ones in red usually.
I am sure you've seen them on some Inoue Tosuke papers.
The point is that it is really hard to figure it out.
The best thing I can do is to show this to some of my japanese friends and see...
I am afraid it won't help a lot though
