This photo is the one from eBay it looks a lot shinier now and clean. it's hard to wait on honing. can't wait to see how it shaves. Still waiting on the 14 I have on the way. these blew my shaving budget out the wazoo.

You have a Friodur 14 on the way? I would love to know more...

I must admit, if I have another RAD burst, it will be Henckels...love this #14, but the #17's are calling as well.

Got this one three weeks ago, a Henckels G. Hoppe #14, its exceeded all my expectations:

There are quite a few 14's and 17's around in SS, the carbon ones are a little harder to find but not exactly rare.

So is the OP's razor is a carbon blade - awesome looking blade, very old so I guess it would be carbon based? Never seen a Henckels like that one or that old...I need to look more obviously.

I am just finishing honing up (as I write this!) on a Heckles that I just finished restoring. It is an old one. Shoulder-less No. 66 with original blonde horn scales. Best I can tell is that it is from around 1884 or later based on the stamp, but definitely prior to the early 1900's. I'll post pics after I shave with it today.

Rhensley's is from 1875 to about 1884 when the stick figures changed from what information I can dig up. Nice razor!

Soooo many Henkies. Too many models and shapes, grinds. A sickness in it'self!

My RAD has been fairly concentrated on Henckels for some time. I pick up the odd Sheffield here and there but every day I do a search on the bay for new listing for Henckels razors. There are a lot of different ones for sure. The old ones are pretty rare finds, and are the Rapide safety razors. The have been in business since the late 1700's. I have one of their 250th anniversary razors. It's a specialized RAD, although I have not had the affliction for as long as Tom.
