Thread: Bunch of razors

It's called a frameback, and I have one just like it. It's a great razor, pretty, and a superior shaver.

I think what sharptonn is trying to say is that with razors condition is everything. The frame back you showed and the one Andrew showed are of the same make and model, however the is substantially less wear on Andrews blade, which make it more desirable and as a result worth more. So if you don't know what you are looking at, other than the obvious box of razors it may be tough for you to find a value. I propose that you get a couple professionally hone, hang around here and learn to shave, and by the time you get that done you will discover you don't want to part with any of those. It has been the gold standard in shaving for a very very long time. We don't do it just because we like being the cool kids on the block. Once you get your shave dialed in you will never find a better shave. If you are tempted to test the waters go get a shave at a full service barber shop, you will see what I mean.

I think the Op is just interested in making some money , not shaving with them , so the info has been given to look up ebay past sold items ,, if they were from my family id keep them for someone down the road who may want to shave with them , evidently his family member cared for them so its an heirloom ,, but Tom is right were not a shopping site tc

First of all I am not just looking for a quick buck with these. I will sell some of them because I already collect pocket knives, butcher knives, axes, hatchets and cast iron cookware. I don't want or need another habit to feed. Ideally I'd like to work this collection down to a manageable size and I can add them to my antique cabinet. I have no interest in shaving with one or reconditioning one. Maybe I need to look elsewhere to find the help I am seeking.

A manageable size! That's hilarious, considering some of these fellas think 200+ razors is flirting with "unmanageable"! One built a round, glass-topped wooden coffee table that doubles as a lighted display case for something like 75-150 razors. Can't remember who it was... anyone care to dig up that post and paste the pic?

And in regards to this being the right place for help... this is a gathering place for gentlemen to discuss common interests. They will wax philosophical to compare and contrast razors like fantasy sports nuts go on about players in a given sportsball. For them, its not about the money.

Would you go to a museum chronicling the history of guns, with priceless examples showing specific advancements in the development of that technology, and ask them how much $$ each item from an inheritance could put in your pocket? (Sorry, this is the best comparison I can come up with after insomnia put me 5hrs past my bedtime.)

You will be EXTREMELY hard pressed to find a more helpful group on the interwebz. Just about the only thing they won't help people do, is figure out how to charge top dollar for razors.

Keep us in mind when a family member mentions which razor(s) were the go-to shaver for the person who passed these along, and human curiosity makes you wonder what that experience was like!
