I heard in other countries the McDonalds taste different also!

Thanks to SRD's incredibly fast shipping (and my own uncontrolled impulsivity), I am now in possession of brand spanking new Esbjerg! It's a gorgeous brute of a razor, absolutely dwarfing my Wacker 7/8 Old Sheffield. I'll be taking it for a test drive tonight, but I had to admit, that aggressive French point has me a bit nervous. Assuming I survive the experience, I'll post an update after my first shave.

    Wish me luck!

    That's a real beauty.
I've got an 8/8 french point custom ordered from Koraat in Austria. He is the guy that makes these so I'm really looking forward to the shave report. My guess is that it's absolutely awesome.
    Congratulations!!

Koraat makes some beautiful razors. I'm delighted to own one. I thought about ordering directly from them, but I couldn't defer gratification that long. I'll definitely let you know how it shaves, but if the look and feel of the thing is any indication, it ought to be a heck of a shaver. Stay tuned.

Ulrik makes top notch razors. Straight Razor Designs carries only top notch stuff. That is as perfect a combination as you will get. Nice scales, by the way.

Thanks! I decided to go with the bicolor ebony, since every other razor in my rotation is either black or white. This one is a little of both.

I love the French point! They can be a better option than a square point if one is more afraid to use a square point but I like 'em all. If I buy one though, it might be a French point!

It's funny -- I have a notch point and a couple of square points in rotation but somehow the tip of this French point seems like it would be more prone to biting me. We'll see. If it draws too much blood, I may mute it a tiny bit until I'm used to wielding it.

My guess is that it isn't going to be any different than a non muted true square point.

You're probably right. I suppose it's just the nervous anticipation of trying something new that has me thinking otherwise.
