I currently have 9 razors that are shave ready and in my rotation, but seem to keep adding more...
I have a LOT of blades that I am in the process of restoring (probably about 25 in various stages from rusted and damaged to only in need of honing) and will add some into the mix as they are finished and sell or give away the rest.
Out of the ones I currently use, two are wedges or quarter grinds and the rest are full hollow. Three are 6/8 or larger and the rest are 5/8. There is no pattern or rhyme or reason to my collection, I just picked up razors that I liked
As for choosing the razor on an given day...thebigspender nailed it!

I usually do not shave on Saturdays unless there is an event that prompts me to do so, but when Sunday morning and my beard is thick from the no-shave Saturday, I use my 6/8 which really knocks down my beard and gets me a nice smooth shave. Monday I'll use my 5/8's for the rest of the week. It's just what I do and works for me. However, there is a morning say, Wednesday, I'll just grab my 6/8 and go ahead and shave with it regardless of my beard. There's no set rule, it's whatever works for you. The neat thing about this shaving passion is trying different techniques, razors, creams/soaps, and etc and have fun. I always like to say, "We took a boring mundane chore and turned it into an enjoyable daily passion."

Gentlemen,
I split my shaves between the straight and the double edge razors. Either way, the usual pattern is a different razor daily.

I forgot to mention my straight razors on a stick, I also use a Rolls, Darwin Universal, Everite and Kronenberg 101. I really enjoy this shaving medium..

First there was one razor. Then there was two,in case one needs to be sharpened.
Then there was a seven day set one for each day. Next a 31 day set for every day of the month. And on and on it goes.
Don't even start talking about soaps and creams lol

Just got my 5th razor today, I started out using 5/8 Boker, bought a really nice 5/8 Puma from Badgister, then got a vintage 6/8 Spartacus, traded for a 6/8 Aust. Found myself using the Aust and Puma the most. I purchased a vintage 5/8 F.W. Engels for a great price only used it once because it feels too small for my hands, might get rid of it. Still rotate in my Edwin Jagger DE, those are great shavers.
My new razor a 7/8 Aust.
To think all this started by me sending Joe Edson my great grandfather's W&B to restore because I really was interested to se how real men shaved.Allen

I have 7 Bokers which form my main rotation. I keep them all in individual sleeves made from a silicon treated gun sock. I can't see which razor is which, so I use whichever one comes out of the Tupperware box, lucky dip style. That one then goes into a different box, and so on, until all 7 have been used. Then it starts again. I break it up now and again by using one of my Spikes, Revisor, Natch or Osgar etc. Oh the agony of choice!

I shave with whatever I like the look at when I'm grabbing a razor to shave with. No system involved.
