Double Ducks when I started we're going crazy at auctions, whenever one came up it was WAR...now they're relatively easy to find, they still cost a bit, but on the whole the condition they are in is much better.

Big Sheffields now seem to be the hot item, when I was buying, and I gravitated right away to the W&B's, there were ton's of them, and they weren't anywhere near as expensive as they are now, and there were a lot more of the big quality razors.

Next year, another flavour will take over I'm sure, but the market is what the market will pay, and most people if you told them you'd paid even $50.00 for an old straight razor, they'd look at you like you're nuts....

Right on Phrank. When I got many of my W&B's, they were cheap but now they are selling for big bucks. Every now n then I will see one go cheap, but the heavy bladed ones are highly sought after.

Well Phrank, I never said it had to make sense to me, most here know about supply and demand as do I.

I consider myself lucky, Phrank, because of Mastering many things including Manufacturing Jeweler, Knife maker, on and on, when I want I will make my own Razors to my specs and steel is not expensive. Will I sell to others, probably Not, for giving gifts that surprise Friends are a pleasure, worth more than any Currency.

    I am your friend, FAL!
I do know what you mean. Some things are for selling. Others for giving.
Do carry on as it pleases you and ( by all means) put them where they may be enjoyed most!

A WONDERFUL old Sheafworks. Untouched. Remarkable. Easily honed to scare hairs from the face.
Never unpinned. Like new........Darry has it. A gift, I think! Has his grubby hands around it!
