    Default Excellent gesture!

Nice thing to do, that. As usual, these folks get the job done.

Hold on to that razor, maybe use the thing to practice if not succeed at sharpening? I have one of the more famous "do not waste time with this model" razors too so don't feel bad.

Just remember the next shnook who unwittingly buys an Ebay surprise, and offer your razor to them...that would be a good proliferation of good will.

I doubt you'll find negative comments, as most straight razor veterans won;t even consider this and similar companies (Rockwell, Zeepk, Masters, etc.).. I suspect that uninitiated individuals are purchasing these razors, and are not aware of their inferior quality.

If nothing else, you got a razor to learn other skills (e.g., honing & stropping) with while you acquire a good razor.

John, here is vintage razor in excellent condition, that will serve you well for many years, and with excellent price (for now):

It is much better investment than your previous razor...

I received my razor from Sharp&Shiny and also the razor i bought from EBAY.

First the eBay razor is a piece of it is supposed to be titanium coated to keep the blade sharp longer as described on ebay.

but the thing is when they sharpned the blade they ground right through the golden titanium and you can see the silver steel below.

Also there are two large scraches on the reverse side of the blade.

I have already emailed the seller for a refund.

now on to the "Stainless black micarta Dovo" that i received for free from Sharp&Shiny, I cannot wait to give it a try.

    It`s a beautiful thing.

    thanks.

    John.

Don't be so hard. We all did it. Some time spent here and learning the ropes will make things a lot easier to know what to look for and what to avoid.

The positive feedback stumps me on these things. Does nobody wait until they use the product before leaving feedback these days? You can't tell me all those people actually shaved with them and got a result that would warrant a positive feedback.

FWIW, if you want brand new razors, there are only a handful of manufacturers still making them, and you will get nothing under £60 brand new that I would want near my face. Most of what you will get will be New Old Stock (NOS) or restorations/restorable razors. Keep an eye on the trade section here, people are usually very good about postage to this side of the pond, and there are occassional sales from this part of the world too.

well i tried the razor, and i am cut to hell, but nothing serious.

I would say i got around 50% of the hair - but i had to stop to stem the flow of blood.

The hardest part i found was doing my chin.

Is it normal for people who wear spectacles to have problem doing their side boards the spectacles just keep getting in the way, but i cannot see without them.

If i heal up enough, i will have another go tomorrow

I am thinking of you Sharp&Shiny

    regards

    John.
