Great razor. Case straight razors are known to be of high quality. I have found some information on them in my Razor Anthology book but it doesn't give much about dating. Don't quote me on this but I think I also found some information on them in my Knives & Razors book by Jim Sargent. I'll have to look in them but I want to think I found a lot more information on Case somewhere's. I have a couple of Case straight razors & they are excellent.

i have one Case&Sons Chromic tested ( very pretty) ..is a good razor. The only news that i found were about knives and the company had been purchased by other company(someone said the new company used pakistan steel or that company was pakistan..i don't remember well) but the only thing I say is that my razor cut very well and smooth.

Those razors from the hart collection have been on Eboy for years now. He was a collector of western memorabilia and had quite a collection of razors. Most are well used though. He started out as a stunt man and had his own show, Hawkeye which was a Canadian production along with Lon Chaney Jr who played his Indian companion. He played many supporting roles in westerns and T.V over many years. He did the Lone ranger thing during a labor dispute between the studio and Clayton Moore. He was not well received as the ranger.

Thanked: 0I spoke to a friend I have at Case today and he told me to contact Jim Sargent also as he had lots of good info on them.
I happen to like him for the most part as Lone Ranger. Clayton Moore does the old timer disguise very well though. I already have a Clayton Moore autograph so I seen this as a chance to add to three collections at once...... My western autograph, CaseXX and straight razor.

Nothing against the Lone Ranger. In the words of Tonto; 'Many moons have passed since Kemosabe went to happy hunting ground. Him sign many white-man checks. He havum lawyer. Much fancy. Tonto see in saloon when go to town. Squaw of Kemosabe very old. Sign many cards for lawyer. Lawyer also bookeep for Kemosabe. Him havum cancelled checks.
Tonto born at night. Not last night'.
If John Hart was a collector, seems he may have something of quality and condition? Have not seen one yet.
I suppose I was not born last night either."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 0Understandable. The price was comfortable enough for me so I'm happy with the purchase even if the connection was not there.

I am now looking through one of my Knives & Razors books by Jim Sargent. It is the 7th Edition & it has from page 187 to page 382 just on Case knives alone. Then from page 383 to page 420 on Case straight razors alone which includes Crandall Cutlery, Kinfolks,Geneva/Genco, Red Point, Little Vally Knife Ass'n. There is so much here, I will be here for a long time. I knew I found more information awhile back on Case straight Razors. Along with a Little Valley straight, a couple of Case & some Genco's I also have a Crandall Cutlery blade with the coffin for it & the blade says "I Must Kut" on it & so does the coffin.
Joe, if you want to find out some information on this straight razor plus some of the Case knives you have, I would get this book or any other editions if I were you. The 7th edition has a DVD in the back of it which if you look in the top right corner of the pic says it has.
The other Knives & Razors book I have by the same guy has a lot in it as well plus I found information on Case strops. That one is the 4th Edition.
I'm going to look through these to see if I can find other information like the J. Rose in the other thread or the straight Tom has that he thinks could be from Macy's which it very well might be. I did look in one of them some but there is a lot of information in these books which I may not know about!
