Only one post talks using a black light on ivory.......

Really no need, once you handle these materials, they are easily identify. Add horn and tortoise shell to that as well.

I think it would be cool to see these under a black light..... And also gives an extra source of correctly identifying. Just a thought.

    I don't currently have a black light...... Soon though....soon.

Guys, I just cannot see a need for a blacklite to identify scale materials. Look through the many threads on the subject on the forum. Blacklite seems a waste, I think? YMMV

Got me curious as well. I have a confirmed ivory scaled Frederick Reynolds out for honing currently. When it gets home I will shoot some black light shots and post em up.
Give me a reason to take it down from the black velvet naked girl painting finally.

    SWEET!

Also if you have bone, could you do a few pics of those too?

I'm just curious to see what they look like.

Ewwww. I can't even tell how it's still stuck to the wall.. hehe.

And I will post up an example of bone as well for comparison. Just cause I'm curious. I wonder if piano key ivory will show the same. Have an old ivory clad upright so maybe I will shoot that too. That ivory is very thin though but also confirmed as legit.
