Thanked: 1These guys received over 2 million dollars in backers... I personally would not use this as old school straight shaving runs in my blood.

So I go from the nice smelling products I use to the smell of burning hair?

Thanked: 44Its all fun and games until someone loses a head
On a serious note, if this does get off the ground it would kill the disposable razor business. I don't think it would affect the popularity of our hobby at all. Disposable razor users do so because its fast and easy, so if something faster and easier comes along they'll ditch the old disposable and go for the latest greatest thing. SR enthusiasts have exactly the opposite approach. Wouldn't it be funny if in another twenty years society has consigned the disposable razor to history, but the straight is still going strong!Last edited by puketui41; 10-01-2015 at 11:28 AM.

Likewise being from the south I have always hated NASCAR and thought to liven up the sport is to sell off like 20 special seatings for $1000 per seat and the buyer gets 10 bricks to throw at the cars going by to create wrecks to really enjoy! I am sorry I digressed here and NOW back to the OP's thread which I humbly apologize for hi-jacking for a few minutes!

I agree. There is nothing fast nor economical about this hobby (lifestyle) for sure. Maybe one could argue in the long run the razor you buy lasts quite honestly forever. But do we know many if any that bought only one str8 and nothing more???? I have been in this less than a year and have my 7th str8 on the way. Now I know there are more with many more buys and razors that quick but I figured in the beginning I would get maybe 2 razors and keep rotating. Well, it's an addiction a bit and then when you add the strops; stones to maintain edges; soaps and the soaps you experiment with; the aftershaves; balms; oh my I could go on as you all know!!!!
I think if it does get off the ground it will not put the disposable out of business. It is almost to me a techie market they are trying to corner here. A lot of folks will still remain loyal I assume to the old Bic bag of plastic disposables!German blade snob!
