The NEXT one is always the perfect one. It's always the LAST one. Oh well, at least we always keep telling ourselves that. Now back to looking....

For me it is like supreme court justice Potter Stewart on the definition of pornography ......... 'I can't define it, but I know it when I see it.' That is the way I 'manage' razor acquisition ........ notice I didn't say ..... disorder.

I've long wanted a Puma Special, 6/8 and square tip. Then I realized that I have several razors that are 6/8 and square tip. And you know what, they shave great. So what am I chasing? Well, if a Puma presents itself I'll buy it. But I'm not worried about it. At some point you've bought some good stuff and you simply have to appreciate it. It takes a while but once you're there, trust your past and enjoy the fruits of your pursuits.

The one razor I've always wanted to acquire is a Joseph Smith & sons (Sheffield), had chances over the years to pick one up but for some reason just never did. There's a few others too, but that maker is still an interest to me.

Never found a nice vintage in any of the antique stores I frequent to date so I mainly am starting what will one day in the future be collectible vintage to my kids! I love all that I have and yes, some better than others. The most consistent brand is still the Ralf Aust lineup. I have Boker; Dovo; Revisor; PRC; and Jerry Stark razors.

I would love to add some more one day and mainly a Thiers if they ever get back in stock here at SRD!
