Thanked: 9Ah, the assymetry of it all... it just bugs me to see things like this.
But let's hope the shave is great! Keep us posted

I think the covered tang models are from the early 20th century and are not hand forged. Only the historical model is hand forged. Either way they are both fantastic shavers. I don't think the hand forging makes any difference. If your into history and collecting then it would be more important.

Thanked: 55Well fellas, I've decided to sell my TI Historic. It's not seeing any action here in my hands and I think someone else would probably enjoy it. I'll post the ebay number here and at the yahoo site tomorrow night.

Thanked: 55JMS, once upon a time I did offer to the forums first and it can cause complications. Ever since I have felt that this is the best way to handle things as it gives everyone a fair shot.

Thanked: 55Gentlemen,
As promised I have listed my Thiers Issard Historic Hammer Forged Razor. This is one heck of a shaver but for me it's not getting any use because I prefer bigger blades and its a piece of history and I don't want to ruin it by accident. Here's the listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=190126231028
Right now all the vendors who sell these are out of them so if you're looking for one this may be a good opportunity for you. Only 450 of them were ever made so when they're gone, they're really gone. Starting bid of only $9.99, no reserve. It comes shave ready.
Regards,
EL

Cool, Thanks EL for the heads up.
The pictures make the blade look like is is scratched up near the tip and the etching, is this the case or is it just the photo?
Thanks

Thanked: 55That's the finish of the razor and those lines or whatnot have been there since I recieved the razor. They are not scratches. To the naked eye you have to look very hard at it while it's in you hand to see what you're talking about. The only thing I can think of is that it's a product of the polishing stage of fashioning the razor.

EL
