Stoked!
Just ordered my first shave ready razor from SRD. I ordered the Ralph Aust 5/8 kit and am excited to get started. The forum has been a great source of information and I hope to put it all to practical use.
I never would have given straight razor shaving a shot of it weren't for this wonderful community here. Highest accolades from this newbie.

Congratulations.
The 5/8 Aust from SRD ws my first modern SR when I "re-started" after 35 years. It is a great razor and I predict you will come to love it.
As many have said other places, go slowly, take a step at at time, and keep reading and watching videos from the forum. The mentors and other long-time SR shavers here are valuable assets for you. Take advantage of their advice and guidance if you have questions, and above all enjoy!Just call me Harold

This is great! And to think, you more than likely followed the advice of many to start with the infamous Ralf Aust 5/8 with black acrylic scales!!!!! So many get referred this little gem but so many opt for something else. I am here to tell you, you will not be disappointed in this razor! Still one of my favorites and my cheapest!

It took me three hours to choose which razor I'd get.
