Default Hard to walk away from.

W&B 7/8 Celebrated. The blade is in great shape but it has one wood scale and one horn scale. The employee can't negotiate and the owner isn't answering their phone. I'm not willing to pay what they are asking. Bummer.

I went back to leave my number and they were able to contact the owner. I was able to get it for a fair price[emoji1]

I agree, it looks unique. I would even consider leaving the scales,,, clean them up & re-pin with consistency on both sides or I would do both sides in wood,,,,, just my thoughts

Thank you. I kind of like the wood. It does need to be re-pinned.

When you consider the one scale is not original personally I would make a new set using the original as a template replace the the washers with the exact same ones, then i would lightly restore the blade and black the writing to bring out the words it deserves it IMO.

I have seen a few done that way & the replacement scale was matching the other exactly. Jamie has a good idea. I like to restore old ones & I try to re-use the original collars if I can. I also have old pill bottles with old collars in them & the ones that came off the same razor I have wired together so I know they're the same. You picked up a nice shaver there.

Well, to me the pesronal story of the razor is what most important
throughout history the scales have become the way they are, it's a individual thing, but I like these 'oddities' about razors, I would leave it as is
    others will prefer to re-scale
I will only re-scale for two reasons: broken original scales or cell-rot; I will re-pin if there's a serious alignment issue, I hate those
    your razor, your choice
    enjoy it, it's a beauty
