My thick fingers and ham hands can't control a 4/8, with that skinny tang, as well as a 5/8.
I may have mentioned that, Jimmy. Seems my hands are old, skinny, and worn. Grip comes at a premium these days!

A 4/8 shaver causes me more trepidation than an 8/8. I have to be lots more careful to keep from cutting a strop or my Hollywood face as that little fella may just roll-over in my fingers at any time.

Back in the day most bought a razor strictly as a tool. Maybe the very wealthy looked for fancy scales or ornamentation. For us this is more a hobby and folks want something big and impressive. it's the same with watches. Folks want big heavy pieces. Little watches don't sell mainstream.

See that's the problem right there. You and Obie have those sissy Hollywood faces. If you had a Broadway face like me you would be further ahead in the game and your face could take anything you threw at it and still be a star.

This thread has helped me tremendously,,

Everyday I stare in the mirror and realize that I will never be 5'7", I will always be a 5'5".

But now I realize its all a matter of perception.

They are just razors. All of them cheap in the scope of things?

No issues with 5/8 lovers here. Some sweet examples to be had for less is a fine advantage!
