Thread: The greatest misperception...

In another thread on this topic from sometime back, someone postulated that the nineteenth century Sheffield makers found a large razor more attractive to barbers, and others, because they held more lather when making passes. Requiring less rinsing/wiping, meaning completing shaves more quickly, and lasted longer overall, despite wear from honing. This also sounds plausible, though certainly not definitive.
I think one reason many of us have a fascination with the 'meat choppers' of Sheffield is the nostalgia factor, and they are just cool looking razors. Nice to use too.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I've got a big one and I love using it just feels so right in hand.

Now. Why on Earth would a big razor appeal to anyone?

Thanked: 3795I had a friend who used to refer to all spoilers on the backs of cars as ***** extensions. Every time I see a spoiler, I still think the same thing.
