Thanked: 4824I think they would be worth a closer look, however he has nothing on the for sale page, so we can only speculate as to what the prices are.
I like the look of some of them. Actual wedges and thin flexing scales. Although most are too fancy for me, there was potential there. As Bob said, it is all about getting the unseen stuff right. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I actually made an online enquiry today, seeking an estimate for a 6/8 in hardwood scales without such scrolling or decoration to spine etc. He confirmed that he would be happy to make something to my specifications, and the price he quoted was probably equivalent to a Nate's Straight. I reckon I'll be following this up in the near future. As to the ornamental nature of the gallery; I think it's common practice with most artisans to display their most elaborate work, it's not my taste either but I won't let that put me off!

Thanked: 3222That is what is nice about a custom razor. You should be able to get it the way you want it, plain or fancy.
