It seems dead center to me.

If anything, the stamp would be closer to the end, but measuring from the center line of "hollow ground razor" is within a mm of being equally spaced.

The distortion in the pic isn't helpful as far as showing it in a picture. The edge is exactly 3". I guess it could have been ground down into a French without losing any blade length?

I will drag mine in to-morrow and we shall measure...
    Either way, a nice blade!

My hope was that someone else had one like it. Then you and Tc have to go and scare me!

Well, if it was cut right across the notch at a slant it might still be centered well.
I have had many modded hollow-ground FBU's through my hands. I just don't think it is in it's original form there.

Seems this example has much more meat out front.

I just wonder if they actually made a spike-point? Much less a French-point?
I reckon these things were in production a long time. Who knows?

So, Prodigy. Do you think the scales are original? Seem to be not as wide on the wedge end..

Here's the only other 9/8 spike point W&B I have, no markings on it other that the maker's mark....it's proportions and measurements are identical to each other (except for the magnificent thumb-notch ).

Scales are not original to the razor. I tried to get the originals from the seller, but it was after I bought it that I found out they weren't original. He bought those big chunky pre shaped ones on ebay. Sucks, but that's why I got a real good deal on it...

That razor is gorgeous, I'd take it in a heartbeat - that was a lucky grab, modified or not, hone it up and enjoy it, there aren't many of those around anymore.

Yea, I think I'll hold on to it. The scales are split on one side at the pivot, so I'll problem make some burl scales for it at some point.

Amen to that, Phrank! It seems W&B razors had a pecking order as to the steel.

The good ones are so much better! JMO.

    TOMORROW! We MEASURE!

    Millimeters, please!
