Thanked: 2284ERN Ator. Sexy looking, and ground to perfection!! Mine took a fantastic edge. I get BBS every time after a 2 pass shave.
Man I could name a bunch. There's one I've read about that I'm currently seeking out. Saw a few guys post about them and I fell in love. Not saying that one cause they only pop up once in a blue moon on Ebay. Lets just say made in America by Sheffield men. They look very much like Sheffield razors.
Sometimes I think I should just go North and look in a Field.......Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

I think Western-style Japanese straights tend to get overloaded, except Iwasakis of course. My Daishis, Tanifuji, and Kangetsu are absolutely top notch shavers with superb grinds and steels.

Back in the day the were a million and one different razors out there and probably 99% would give you a great shave. It's more in this day and age we have the known questionable razors.
Sure there are brands known for ease of maint and great shaves and those famous brands are razors in quantity while those not out there in quantity remain "unknown".No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Razors underrated for me are some of my older razors and nothing that has not been mentioned already.
They are older for me - in the sense i purchased them years ago and have not given them the same respect as some of the newer acquisitions (regardless of vintage) - most notably this includes some of the, dare i say, simply-styled razors - Red Imp; le grelot and Dubl Duck no 1's. These were commonplace in the members' best lists around 6-7 years ago and i am happy i have hung onto them.
I hauled some out and cleaned up the edges about 6 weeks back and have really enjoyed having these back in rotation.

Thanked: 580Favorite underrated razor down under has to be the Bengall. Not hard to find, and shave as good or better than anything else out there.

Kropp. I've never had a bad one.
Bismarck original production, Again never a bad one.
Neither are fancy blades, and both are pretty similar in grind. Both makes are very good to hone, and neither will cost a fortune even on the bay.Real name, Blake

I'm going to throw my hand in and also say the Russian blades are often overlooked, and in many, many cases excellent razors.

My first truly great shave was with a Genco. They have many supporters around here, but I think are still plenty underrated.
