Thanked: 3225Don't know if underrated is the right word, maybe over looked in the rush to get it's fancier relatives. That would be the DD no 1 Special. Come to think of it that also could include almost any razor that is not all the rage to own.

Thanked: 59I think the whole line of Genco straight's don't usually get all the respect they deserve. However, that does seem to be changing as of late...
Oh, then there are the Russian straight's, I believe they don't get any respect at all. People can't give them away on the bay. That needs to change. Or are they worse than GD's? I don't think so...but I don't know because I've never shaved with one. Maybe someone here has?Last edited by Aerdvaark; 04-03-2017 at 02:11 AM.

Agree on the Genco. When I first started Marty gave me a Genco that is a dandy little shaver!
Often wondered about the RussiansKeep it safe and Cheers,

The Rooshskis' I have are all worth having. Plain and effective! Any of the East Coast razors will earn their keep. Kropp made great, plain, razors. Don't follow the herd.

I have a couple from some hardware store from who knows where that are excellent.
Many of these "unknown" or odd razors of of good quality.

I could list several overrated razors. I agree with the comments others have shared about Soviet razors. I have less experience with Trud's but I have gone through several STIZ blades. They're straight forward tools with more emphasis on function then form. Their steel is often a little on the harder side and can take a very nice edge.
