I don't think that they have OSHA over there

No worries, I have seen a few vids where razors are honed on wheels and the final finish is done on stones but not sure how TI does there’s

If you go to the French eBay, you'll find plenty of 'coup chou ancien', used straight razors. If you spend a couple weeks as the auctions roll over you'll find lots of TI and Grelots. I've seen NOS Grelot 17's for about 300€. If you are patient you'll find some 'really' nice blades for less than the new TIs. Much better and, in my opinion, more aesthetic.

    Coupe chou, ancien rasoir, etc.

Now, if you want a cosmetically perfect razor it should be an all machine made blade and even honed that way as well

With some of the perfectly forged and ground customs out there I would have to respectively disagree.

I tend to agree, I have several BBRW’s razors along with Wacker, Koraat and a few others and the grinds look very good so you would think that a maker like TI would take note.

I'd bet companies like TI had to start from scratch wrt their workforces. When SR production began again there could not have been too many of the old skilled blade grinders left to be able to teach apprentice blade grinders. Grinding is a skill/art learned over time so if the foregoing is true it is no wonder some of the grinding is subpar. Then there is the push to produce blades fast to feed a newly expanding market. That is a bad combination for achieving a high standard of QC. The new production TIs should be a lot better than they were 3-5 years ago.
