I tried a Gold Dollar once.
Honed it up and shaved with it until the edge died. That was day 6
Others have reported 10 shaves. If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

I just ordered the smiling Sheffield looking one.
I have no idea why I did it, in my defence, I am stupid and have way too much money.Last edited by easyace; 06-30-2019 at 06:28 AM.

Thanked: 4827Having never held one in hand, but looking at the online ads, it does appear they are changing and improving. I remember when I started and there were a lot of posts on other forums about them. In my lurker days. Guys would hone a gold dollar and post pictures. The grinds was so uneven that the bevel line was all over the place. They would often remark about how much time they spent regrinding them, and fixing heels. It was at that point I decided there was no point buying one, and putting that much work into it.
These new ones you are showing do not look like the wacky ones from days gone by. It will be interesting to hear some new feedback to see if anything has changed in the quality. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
