Favorite size?
I know this is probably a silly question, but what the hell. Anyone have a favorite size blade?
When I first started shaving straight a few months back, I bought a Dovo 5/8" ebony, and it's great. BUt I soon bought a 7/8" W&B at a yard sale, and after disinfecting and honing, it's rapidly become my favorite razor to shave with. I currently own 5 razors that I use (and a few that I don't), and I have to say this wider blade seems to fit me fine. Any thoughts?
Incidentally, when I first bought the 7/8", I thought it would be like trying to shave with an axe. Turns out I love it. Who knew?

I use them all but if I had to pick a favorite it would be a 6/8s and I would be willing to bet if you did a survey you would find 6/8s to come out on top.

I like the heft of a 6/8 even a full hollow has a nice weight to it. Also the tang tends to be larger and I like that as well, big hand syndrom

My own favourites are an ancient (1850-ish) full wedge 6/8 with a sweep like a sabre, a 5/8 Edgar Allen extra hollow and a murderous-looking 8/8 Kropp. Go figure!

I like my 6/8 but I think I would like a 7/8 for the days I let my goatee area grow out.

Thanked: 4942I probably am a fan of 6/8 and 7/8 razors the best, but I have a ton of 5/8 razors that are such good shavers that they always get a spin in my line up.
