Thanked: 182the blades are dipped in to the LN for cryo same as every blade i have ever done
remember that the blades are not fully ground when i do this and it can take a few min. to soak the blades cold due to there mass (the edge when heat treated was .063 for safety in heat treat) once there cold i leave them to soak for a few hours while the kiln temp. drops to temper temp. if there was to be a "ping" i would have heard it upon quench or as the blade was going sub zero. i was there for the whole thing
so far as the spacer thats because im used to making sure all scales are parallel for folders this keeps the action smooth during the full rotation

Beautiful razor. Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to make one of these? (not that I would even try, it clearly takes considerable skill!)
