    Go for it!
I recently had the opportunity to hone an NOS Filly and found it very easy but I remember reading of one or 2 members who had trouble honing a Filly.

Every time I've heard someone say Fillies are finicky to hone it turns out their point of reference is one of the newer batch CS is still selling.

I think these might be stainless; at the very least I'm convinced they're a different steel from the old sub ceros, novodurs, doble temples and so on.

I've had 6 or 7 of the vintage fillies and not one was difficult to hone.

I vote Friodur, for all the reasons stated. I've rarely had any problems honing the hones that have been shipped to me. But then, the same can be said for the Fillys.

My $.02: Keep 'em both. If they're in good condition they're gonna be awesome shavers and will only gain value over time.
I'd never sell a Fily or a Friodur unless I had too many of them

Yup, you are absolutely correct. It was my mistake. My only Filly experience is with a newer batch CS Filly, so I should not have commented on it in comparison to NOS Fillies. I do have at least three old, and one new, Friodurs and they are great.

I still say, keep them all!

Both are absolute top of the line razors so that's one tough choice. I think that the only "correct" answer is to keep one of each That's how RAD gets started!

Keep one of each if you can. Pick the better of the two Friodurs and keep the Filly as well. Then sell me the Friodur you don't want.

If I had to choose between mine, I'd keep the Filly.

    However, I have to say...

Dude, (note that I never, ever say dude but in this case it fits) do not let any of them go! Good women come and go, but great razors actually do stay with you forever. Sell whatever you have to sell, get a part time job, donate blood or any other bodily fluids, or do anything else to raise the money, but do not let any of them go. I don't care if you don't have a strop. I don't care if you don't have a hone. Buy all three of them, put them safely in a drawer, and look at them every day. They will inspire you to get your priorities straight and in no time you will get a strop and then you will be able to use them. NOS razors don't come around every day and these are some of the best.

    Go for it!
    Excellent post

Hi Telly, It may take many years until you have 2 Straights of the same quality. On the other hand can get a good stone at any time.
