Exactly what I do, and I really forget. Sometimes I get a message that I won an object and I find out I forgot why I bid on it in the first place.

Unfortunately, I was DETERMINED not to be outbid on a Hess "Forty-four" after seeing the beautiful scales and gold-washed SS blade!! So I paid a fortune for it, completely dissassembled it (it was hitting the scales on one side when it closed) buffed it up real nice with Flitz, and re-pinned it with stainless washers, and Nickle Silver pins and installed brass thrust washers. I honed and stropped and honed and stropped some more----it will pass HHT with some effort, but is NOT a good shaver at ALL at this point!! But it looks nice and closes properly and smoothly now!! I'm not about to sink anymore $$$ into this thing by sending it to a "honemeister", so right now it's just a nice looking conversation piece.
