Thanked: 1If You Could Own Only One?
Only one straight razor that was going to be your daily for the next umpteen years, one that you would eventually pass down as an heirloom, which would it be and why?

I recently honed a Herbert Wacker for a friend, OMG! It was sweet!

Does it have to be a razor that I currently own?
If I had to say right now, and if I was going to have one custom made, it would be a 6/8, half or quarter hollow, probably a Spanish point. Maybe some sort of work done on the back; jimps on the bottom of the tang might be nice. I don't know what blade material I would want, since I know very little about different types of steel. Scales would be black horn.
Sounds pretty generic (excpet maybe the point), but that's because I don't think I'd ever get tired of looking at a simple, beautiful blade. As far as the size/grind, that is simply what I find the easiest and smoothest to shave with

I really like that Le Grelot, Seraphim. If I didn't mind a round point, I would grab one in a second. I just don't find them to be as precise... probably just a question of my technique.
I should have mentioned that I would like a thumb notch and maybe even a top notch on my imaginary custom blade. At least I think I would... I know I like the thumb notch, but I've never held a razor with a top notch.
