    Default Solingen/Bohlerstahl Day/Week Straight Razor Set (7)

Ok, scrapping the earlier post and starting over.

I just won this set off of ebay. Question: would you suggest honing them up to use or put them on display?

    Thanks!

    congratulations.

well the answer would be the same as the one to the question 'why did you get them?'

i haven't bought a display razor yet, but that's just me.

btw the scales are celluloid, not bone or ivory and i'm not sure why one of the blades is different. do you know if it's 'sunday' so it's the special day?

Wow, to be honest I never really noticed one was different. I see the logic in making one different so it stands out. Hopefully the seller will ship them to me quickly so I can examine them more closely. I'll post more detailed snapshots once I receive the shipment.

    Congrats on the win.

I gotta tell you that set was watched today in Chat. We had a little gentlemen's bet going on the price. Just some of the fun stuff we do in SRP Chat. You did well IMO. I put the price at almost double what they went for.

I hope you hone them up and shave with all of them. If you do, let us know how they perform.

LOL, ok now you've got me curious...what was the general concensus of the set?

Everyone (all six, or so, of us participating) thought it was a pretty set of razors, IIRC. As long as you love 'em that's all that matters in the end.

Very nice catch. That's a tough question. I use everything I have, except one Goldedge Dubl Duck that's new, well like new, you'd never know it was used. It's the best vintage duck I've ever seen. Anyway, with yours, I'd display them. Very nice.....

    Default Thanks!

I really appreciate all the feedback I have been given on this razor set! I find myself in agreement with those who say that a set like this should be used, not locked away. I have several vintage pieces (books and fountain pens mostly) that I both use and enjoy...so why should my razors be any different.

I'm going to have to stay away from Ebay...that darn thing keeps getting me in trouble

    Darn RAD

    Cheers!
