Welcome to SRP! The advice above to get yout straight honed by a honemeister is a good one. Later, if you like shaving w/ a straight you can pick up an other blade from an antique shop or fleabay to learn how to hone, and you will have a benchmark in your Grandfather's blade.
Your Torrey looks to be in great condition. You will like the shaves you'll get from it once you get your technique down.
Besides the blade you will need a strop and some good shave soap or cream and a brush. Read through the Wiki and you will find all the info you will need to get started and beyond.
Good luck!!“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)

Lynn,
That's super cool of you! And that razor will shave as good (or better!) than it did for your great grandad!

cool deal wpbrad. You have a chance to shave with a true family heirloom. That's fantastic. Good luck and see you around on the forums!
